Professor Brommel received her undergraduate degree in Study of Religion with double minors in Women’s Studies and Theatre, and a Masters of Arts in Theatre from the University of Northern Iowa. Her playwriting thesis Real Women in an Unreal World: placed in the semi-finals of the Chesterfield Film fellowship in August of 2001. During her graduate work, Professor Brommel worked as a poetry submissions reader for the North American Review. She has taught Composition, Critical Viewing of American Media, Introduction to Theatre, Fundamentals of Theatre I and II, Writing the Narrative Screenplay, and an Arts education based Capstone course. Academic areas of interest include mythic storytelling, theatre and social justice, women’s spirituality, and art and ritual as a component of wellness. Professor Brommel has held a variety of jobs related to books and writing, and can also be found at Nevada State as the Nevada State Bookstore Director.
